Authorized Use of Epinephrine Auto-injectors and Lifesaving Medications in Schools
Amends Section 59-63-95 of the South Carolina Code to expand the authorized use of epinephrine auto-injectors in schools. It now includes the provision and administration of other 'lifesaving medications' (such as opioid antagonists like Narcan) by school nurses and designated personnel. It provides immunity from liability for districts and employees and authorizes the Director of Public Health for DHEC to issue a standing order for these medications schoolwide.
